Freddie Prinze Jr. Has Joined the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” Sequel

Freddie Prinze Jr. will officially return in an upcoming “legacy” sequel to “I Know What You Did Last Summer”.  Freddie played Ray Bronson in the first two films in 1997 and ’98.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is also in talks to return, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.  This will be the fourth movie in the franchise.  There was also a TV series in 2021.

There aren’t any plot details yet.  It’s expected to hit theaters next summer on July 18th, 2025.

***  The third film in the franchise, “I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer”, didn’t star any of the original actors.  It was a standalone, direct-to-video sequel in 2006.

*** In case you didn’t know, a “legacy” sequel is when the movie takes place further in the future with the return of original characters and the introduction of new ones.
