The 5th Annual Channel1450.com Fill the Trailer Food Drive has officially begun, bringing together high school football programs across Central Illinois in a spirited competition to support the Central Illinois Foodbank. This year’s collections will culminate on October 28th, when all the food gathered will be delivered to the Central Illinois Foodbank. The team that collects the most food will be crowned this year’s champion.
The Fill the Trailer Food Drive was launched in 2020, a year when high school football teams were unable to compete on the field due to the pandemic. Channel1450.com created this event to provide a way for teams to engage in friendly competition off the field while making a positive impact on their communities. Since the start of the Fill the Trailer Food Drive, over 26,000 pounds of food has been collected.
This year’s event is proudly sponsored by INB and features participation from several local teams, including Olympia Spartan Football, New Berlin Pretzel Football, and Rochester Rockets Football.

The chance to allow football programs to compete against each other off the field and bring their communities together for one cause – the opportunity to help those in need as the weather gets colder and donate to the Central Illinois Foodbank – makes us feel great about our role in the community.”
