In a display of community spirit and generosity, the Rochester Rockets Football Team emerged victorious in Channel1450.com’s 5th Annual Fill the Trailer Food Drive, sponsored by INB. This year’s event saw an impressive collection of over 3,400 pounds of food, all of which was donated to the Central Illinois Food Bank.
The Fill the Trailer Food Drive was launched in 2020, a year when high school football teams were unable to compete on the field due to the pandemic. Channel1450.com created this event to provide a way for teams to engage in friendly competition off the field while making a positive impact on their communities. Since the start of the Fill the Trailer Food Drive, over 29,000 pounds of food has been collected.
The drive brought together local football teams in a friendly competition to see who could gather the most donations. The participating teams included the Olympia Spartan Football, New Berlin Pretzel Football, and Rochester Rockets Football. Each team worked tirelessly to rally their supporters and collect as much food as possible.
The Rochester Rockets Football team led the charge, inspiring their community to contribute generously. Their efforts paid off, as they collected the highest amount of food among the participating teams. The collected food will go a long way in supporting families in need across Central Illinois, especially as the holiday season approaches.
